The President still refuses to stand down troops, even though this time her husband is at risk. Taylor does trust Jack Bauer, to the point where she allows him into the Oval Office even though just hours before he was choking out FBI agents. Someone should point out to her anyone who has ever trusted him has ended up dead or faked being dead to work with mercenaries. Actually, that wouldn't work. They would have to tell her that going with Jack is the safest course to take and that nothing could possibly go wrong. Her Chief of Staff should tell her that she's part of a show called 10 instead of 24.
Jack tortures the rogue Secret Service agent to find out where Dubaku is holding First Gentleman Taylor. Agent Moss tries to remind him that our rules is what separates us from the terrorists, but Jack tells him "Not today." "Today", of course, is Bauerese for "Ever". The only way he could get more ultra-conservative is if he dressed up like Jesus while watching Bill O'Reilly. Agent Walker helps out by holding the rogue agent's family hostage. She would make a good Jack Bauer, she just needs to stop with all the crying. You would think that she was the one getting tortured with all the waterworks coming from FBI land.
Dubaku is an evil guy who may or may not have a heart of gold when it comes to the ladies. His girlfriend's sister threatens to reveal his true identity if he does not leave her, and he actually leaves the First Gentleman to his pawns so he can deal with his domestic issues. If this was the moment that 24 turned into a romantic comedy, that would be incredible.
Even though he was tied up in a chair, you would think that the First Gentleman would be smart enough to fall over when he sees a crazy man running at him with a gun. However, this is the same guy who has only one Secret Service agent on his detail when he conducts potentially dangerous investigations, and that agent turns out to be evil.
Another exciting episode of 24!!!
