Wave of Mutilation

My roommate, Manny, got Rock Band for his birthday, and I am not exaggerating when I say that it is a life changing experience. I'm not good at guitar or drums, because I am not a musician. However, I am a fantastic singer, and I know a lot of songs, so I am the lead singer of the band.

I feel like Rock Band is an accurate representation of what it is like to be in a successful band. You start off playing small venues, gaining fans with every show that you play, and eventually become a huge success. Then eventually you get sick of playing and the people you play with, and you want to spend all your time in the bathroom getting stoned.

I think games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero are good for the music business and culture, because it introduces fans of the games to songs and artists they may not have had any interest in before. I downloaded the complete soundtrack to Rock Band just because I want to learn all the songs, and I've been listening to Ballroom Blitz and Wave of Mutilation for the last hour or so. It's been great.
