Vince McMahon is giving away $1,000,000 on next week's edition of Monday Night Raw. And I have to admit, I kind of feel like this is beneath Vince McMahon, that he's practically paying people to watch wrestling. Then I remember that this is wrestling we're talking about. Sometimes, I feel like I should be paid for still following the product. Wrestling is almost unwatchable right now, and if you've watched wrestling for a year or two, you've basically seen everything (and I've been watching for 20 years), but that doesn't take away from the fact that Vince McMahon is an icon and a legend. He may not be a great role model, but he's certainly someone I admire and respect. I've been a fan of Vince McMahon and the WWE for years, other than my parents, I would say without hesitation that Vince McMahon shaped my childhood more than any other person. I don't know what kind of person I would be if I didn't watch wrestling.
That said, I would gladly take his money.
The funny thing about the drawing is that he isn't giving away $1,000,000 to a fan. He's giving away $1,000,000 total, and there are numerous prizes involved. The grand prize winner gets $250,000, two first prize winners get $200,000, one second prize winner gets $125,000, a third prize winner gets $98,000, fourth prize gets $75,000, fifth prize gets $51,998, and sixth prize gets $2.00. That's right, $2.00. Although I think the real prize for sixth place is the check signed by Vince McMahon. I would probably frame it, and save it until I am deathly ill, and then eat the check to cure my ailments.
