The NFL starts tomorrow. Football season is always fun, but this year will be especially great due to the Bledsoe/Owens/Parcells show in Dallas, Peyton vs. Eli for the premiere of Sunday Night Football on NBC, Reggie Bush highlights on SportsCenter (the over/under is at one billion), and Kevan Barlow's harrowing tale as a survivor of the Nazi Germany.
Here are my predictions for the season:
AFC Playoff Teams: Eagles, Bears, Panthers, Seahawks, Giants, Rams
NFC Playoff Teams: Patriots, Steelers, Colts, Broncos, Bengals, Dolphins
Super Bowl XLI: Bengals over Giants
Am I confident in these picks? Not really. The NFL is a crapshoot and I haven't done any homework on it aside from watching Sportscenter. It's like High School all over again. I'm basing this on nothing. I figure that if the Bengals and Giants get to the postseason with the schedules they have, they're good enough to make it to the dance. Which means they won't even make the playoffs. I don't know anything.
Shit.
Here's my Week One picks. I don't know what the lines are and don't care to find out so I'm just gonna pick the winner.
Miami over Pittsburgh
Tampa Bay over Baltimore
Carolina over Atlanta
Denver over St. Louis
New England over Buffalo
Philadelphia over Houston
New Orleans over Cleveland
Seattle over Detroit
Tennessee over NY Jets
Kansas City over Cincinnati
Chicago over Green Bay
Dallas over Jacksonville
Arizona over San Francisco
Indianapolis over NY Giants
Washington over Minnesota
San Diego over Oakland
