Talledega Nights

I went with my roommates Tarik and Manny to go see Ricky Bobby. Manny and I saw it already, but Tarik didn't see it yet and that's always a good excuse to go see a good movie again. After the movie, we were walking to the parking lot to discover that Tarik's car got towed because he parked in a parking lot for another store, not the movie theater. Here's roughly how the conversation went as we realized his car was gone.

Tarik: That movie was kickass.
Me: I told you it was.
Tarik: Hey, where the hell is Manny?
Me: Who cares, let's leave without him.
Tarik: Fine with me.
Me (looks back and sees Manny walking way behind us, looking at his phone): Oh there he is.
Tarik: How does he leave the movie before us and end up way behind?
Me: Who knows.

I look up at the parking lot and see a tow truck with its lights on.

Me: Are they towing cars?
Tarik: I guess.
Me: Sucks to be them.
Tarik (looks around): I don't see my car. Shit, I think they towed it.
Me: Really?
Tarik: Yeah, I parked right there and now its gone. Dammit!
Me: Fuck.

Manny catches up to us.

Manny: Huhuhuhuhuhuhuhuh!
Me: Why are you laughing?
Manny: Nothing, I was gonna say that it would suck if the car got towed.
Tarik: It did get towed.
Manny: Oh shit.

We walk towards the parking lot. Tarik, not sure what to do, takes out his phone. He opens it up and looks at it for a moment.

Tarik: What the fuck? Why did you text me saying "Wait up"
Manny: Because I wanted you to wait up.
Me: What? You can't yell? You were right behind us! What's wrong with you?
Tarik: You waste a text just to tell me to wait up!
Me: Yeah that's pretty fucking stupid.
Tarik: That's pretty fucking Manny.
Manny (throws his hands up): I don't know.

He doesn't know a lot of stuff.

My roommate went to talk to the tow truck guy, and he said it was 162.50 to get them to bring the car back. Tarik didn't have the money so I had to go to the bank to lend him the cash. I told him he was an idiot for parking the car in the parking lot, so he put the blame on Manny, who told him to park there, but realized that it wasn't the lot for the theater and said that it was Tarik's choice. The lesson here is that no one should ever listen to Manny.

On the way back from the bank where I had to take out the money, Manny tripped over the sidewalk (seriously) and almost fell. Then I pushed him and then he did fall. Onto a stack of garbage bags. This doesn't really have anything to do with the story, I just thought it was a lot of fun.

While we were waiting for the guy to bring the car back, I checked my phone to see what time it was and I saw that I had a text.

Wait up

And on the way home we saw some guy riding a bike that had a teddy bear for a seat. I don't even have a joke here.

Good question. I think it's because if he didn't live with us he'd be homeless.
