America turns 230 years old today. That may seem old, but compared to Italy (over 3,000 years old) or Barbara Bush (ditto), America is very young.
OK, that dig at Barbara Bush being 3,000 was kind of mean. I admit that I did that because I'm not really a fan of the Bushes. I have to apologize, because I know how sensitive women are about their ages and I'm sure that even an old gasbag like Barbara Bush would take exception. I do respect talent though and I'm willing to admit that Barbara has a lot of talent, as a philanderer and as an actress. For the record, I really enjoyed ol' Barb's starmaking turn as Emperor Palpatine.
W wasn't very good in the movie, but then again W isn't really good at anything. Although his friend, Reddy the Redneck, was solid in his role as "The Guy Who Points".
But bravo, Barbara. They don't make 3,000 year old thespians like you anymore.
Happy Birthday America!
